NEW - Early Years Leadership (NPQEYL)
Designed for early years leaders qualified to at least Level 3 with full and relevant qualifications working in a wide range of Early Years (EY) settings including Private, Voluntary or Independent (PVI) with leadership responsibilities.
The development of the Early Years Leadership NPQ materials and content will be completed in Partnership with the Early Education and delivery partners.
The Early Years programme will have a focus on Culture, Child Development, Curriculum and Assessment and Additional and Special Educational Needs with the areas of Professional Development Organisational Management and Working in Partnership running as threads through each term. The structure will be in a similar way to NPQH there are three modules each running for approx. 6 months. Module 1 is Culture, PD and Implementation ( which does run throughout). Module 2: Child development, curriculum, assessment and ASEND. Module 3: organisational management, working in partnership.
In the Early Years Leadership Programme facilitator development is key to the success of the programme, the facilitators will need to be able to focus the peer learning groups on their local context. Building a community of learners is crucial given the DFE guidance on who this is suitable for.
The intention of the Early Years Leadership Programme Leaders is to support participants from a diverse range of backgrounds in finding a pathway through the programme to both meet their own professional development needs and the needs of their local context.
Venue: - Pate's Grammar School - Cheltenham.
18 month programme comprising:
- Induction Conference - (full day - face to face)
- Facilitated face to face Peer Learning - (4 x 4.5 hour sessions)
- Face to face delivery events - (3x full day)
- Online Learning
- School based implementation project
Engagement - There must be a minimum of 90% engagement in the programme for participants to be eligible for final assessment
Assessment - Each NPQ is assessed using a case study approach completed within a specified eight day window at the end of the programme
