The Balcarras Trust

The Balcarras Trust came into existence on 1 December 2020. It was formed by the Members and Trustees of the Balcarras Academy Trust, which as a Single Academy Trust (SAT) had oversight of Balcarras School in Cheltenham. In 2018, Balcarras was appointed by the Regional Schools Commissioner to sponsor a new secondary school for Cheltenham. That school, The High School Leckhampton, opened on 1 September 2021. In 2023, Winchcombe School became the third member of the Trust.
The Trust is led by Helen Wood, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who works closely with school leaders, trustees and members to support the Trust's vision and strategic development.
The Trust currently comprises three schools: The High School Leckhampton, Balcarras School and Winchcombe School, but remains open to the possibility of future growth. Click here for further information about The Balcarras Trust.
