How to Apply?
When the DfE portal opens for new applications, please follow these steps to apply.
Step 1: Register with the DfE
Please note, you will need the following information to be able to register:

Teacher Reference Number (TRN) Name as recorded by the Teacher Regulation Agency (TRA)

Choice of NPQ (programme applying for)

Lead Provider : UCL Institute to Education is the chosen NPQ provider of Balcarras & Odyssey Teaching School Hubs for Gloucestershire

Delivery Partner: your local Teaching School Hub (Balcarras or Odyssey, based on school location)
Once registration is complete, the DfE will confirm registration to the applicant and forward applicant details to our chosen Lead Provider - UCL Institute of Education.
Step 2: Complete application with UCL Institute of Education
UCL Institute of Education will contact applicants with a link to their UCL application form. On receipt of the completed application, headteachers will be contacted via email to confirm that the applicant has been accepted onto an NPQ programme as well as funding confirmation (if relevant).
Step 3: Programme Confirmation
UCL will confirm your place and your scholarship. We will then contact all participants with the dates and programme outline of their chosen NPQ.
Balcarras & Odyssey Teaching School Hubs are delighted to work in collaboration with UCL to provide National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) within the Gloucestershire region and surrounding areas. These events will be held at either Balcarras School or Pate's Grammar School in Cheltenham.
NPQ Leading Primary Mathematics (NPQLPM)
For teachers who have, or aspire to have responsibility for leading maths in a primary setting.

NPQ Early Years Leadership (NPQEYL)
Designed for early years leaders qualified to at least Level 3 with full and relevant qualifications working in a wide range of Early Years (EY) settings including Private, Voluntary or Independent (PVI) with leadership responsibilities.

NPQ Leading Literacy (NPQLL)
This programme will develop participants’ expertise in leading literacy by developing a deep understanding of evidence-based practice in language reading and writing.

For school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, a Senior Leader with cross school responsibilities.

NPQ for Headteachers (NPQH)
For school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, a Headteacher or Head of School with responsibility for leading a school. DfE is also introducing a targeted support package for teachers new to the role of Headship.

For teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading behaviour and/or supporting pupil wellbeing in their school.
