Appropriate Body - 2025 –2026 Pricing

Introduction

All schools that offer a statutory induction are required to have an Appropriate Body (AB) for their Early Career Teachers (ECTs). The Balcarras Teaching School Hub Appropriate Body will support schools and ECTs to meet the statutory guidance. Through moderation, quality assurance and fidelity checks we will work collaboratively with schools to ensure that ECTs are fairly and consistently assessed.

The Appropriate Body is separate and independent of the Early Career Framework. The monitoring and assessment carried out by the Appropriate Body will be carefully sequenced to reflect the modules covered in the Early Career Framework (ECF), while ensuring that all the relevant teacher standards are met.

Balcarras Teaching School Hub provides Appropriate Body services to meet the needs across Cheltenham, Stroud and The Cotswolds. We offer Appropriate Body services to ALL schools . For schools in The Forest of Dean, Gloucester and Tewkesbury, AB services are provided by Odyssey Teaching School Hub who can be contacted using: admin@odysseytsh.org.

What we offer;

• Experienced team to give advice and guidance on the ECF programme.
• Appropriate Body handbook
• Ensuring that training and support provided by the school (or provider) meets the ECF and the fidelity checks.
• Dedicated online and telephone advice and support for Induction Tutors.
• Access to ECT Manager which is a clear and secure paperless system for ECT registration, assessments and induction resources.
• Training to support the use of ECT Manager within schools.
• Registering your ECTs with the Teacher Regulation Agency (TRA).
• Fidelity check of all progress reviews and assessment forms.
• Email reminders for key actions and deadlines.
• Monitoring visits and feedback along side QA processes.
• Clear and supportive advice for any ECT concerns.
• Support visits for ECTs who may be on a support plan.

Option 1	Statutory Induction using a DfE funded training provider  (Provider Led)
	£250 per ECT per year

 

Option 2	Statutory Induction to delivery own training materials (School Led)
	£250 per ECT - Plus £400 per day for *fidelity checks.

Initial online support and initial support visits are included in the price. Subject to additional charges based on circumstances

*Fidelity check; to take place before the start of the induction period by the AB . This will include ensuring the materials and sessions are in line with the statutory guidance for induction and meet the ECF induction programme standards. Number of days required is dependant on the school programme and materials used . All prices are subject to VAT where applicable.
